CONVEGNO After the Middle Ages (Reception, Remnants, Revival): Architecture and Medievalism

Bibliotheca Hertziana, Max Planck Institute for Art History, Villino Stroganoff

Via Gregoriana 22, 00187 Roma

The conference aims to navigate and shine a spotlight on the historical interactions between architecture and the responses to the Middle Ages, encompassing at the same time attitudes towards the medieval built environment, remnants of the past, revival and practices of reception. Thus, the title of the conference implies  a temporal horizon, extending from the early modern period to the present day and beyond, and these responses (medievalism and neo-medievalism).
